Note: Class length will vary with the experience and number of students. These are hands on classes in which you will practice doing the life saving actions. They include lecture, video and hands on practice.
American Heart Association Certification cards will be issued upon successful completion of the course. If you are required to take these classes for your job, a written exam will be administered in addition to the skills evaluation. All knowledge required is included in the student handbooks which contain more reference info and procedures than are included in the class.
American Heart Association requires that each person have a BLS Providers Manual during the class. Books will be available during the class to purchase if yours has not come in yet. You must purchase a book or ebook for pre-course and home use through an AHA distributor: World Pointe ECC (888-322-8350, worldpoint.com - search for bls book or bls ebook) for about $15.73. You are responsible for obtaining your book before class for proper preparation. Allow for shipping time and possible backorder.
Plan ahead! Do not wait unitl your current cert is expired to schedule a class!
Note: The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
