Wilderness First Aid class in Tampa is a must for anyone who spends time in the outdoors where help is not readily available. It provides individuals a foundation of first aid knowledge and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services (EMS) response, such as wilderness and remote environments. In this course you will also develop leadership skills and learn how to prevent, plan for and respond to emergencies. It includes training on what to do in the case of Head (Brain), Neck and Spinal Injuries, Heat-Related Emergencies, Hypothermia, Altitude-Related Illnesses, Allergies and Anaphylaxis, Burns, Bone and Joint Injuries, Wounds and Wound Infection. Immediate care can help save lives and prevent serious injuries. Current CPR certification is a pre-requisite. May 7-8, 2016. More info;(6 min to hold class).
Emergency Medical Response:
Emergency Medical Response is designed to provide non-EMS responders including government, corporate, law enforcement, and corrections personnel with a level of training comparable to Emergency Medical Responder. This 48-51 hour course is consistent with national EMS curriculum requirements and educations standards, however, it is not the intent of the Emergency Medical Response program to cross the EMS scope of practice threshold. ASHI and Red Cross versions are available.
Pet First Aid and CPR for Cats and Dogs: You will learn how to care for your cat or dog when they are first injured so they have a better chance of a good recovery once you get them to your veterinarian. You must take your pet to the vet for all serious problems. This class will help you to know when you have a serious problem, and what you can do immediately for your pet.
Instructor Development Course:
This ASHI class introduces you to the basic principles of instructional theory and practice, as well as practice in presenting the classes that you will be teaching using the tools available for each class in the training center. Upon successful completion of this 16 hour class, you will be eligible to apply for Instructor Authorization at the ASHI Training Center you have chosen. A base level certification in each class you want to teach is a pre-requisite.
