Lifeguard Class

There are 4 options for Lifeguarding Classes

The basic pre-requisites are:

Lifeguard Training pre-test: Swim 300 yards continuously using the front crawl, breast stroke, or any combination of the 2.  Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using the front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point holding the object on your chest with both hands and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute, 40 seconds. Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.  The Waterfront course swim is 550 yards using only the front crawl and breast stroke, and retrieve 3 dive rings spaced 15 feet apart in 4 to 7 feet of water.

You MUST be able to successfully complete the pre-requisites in order to continue with the course. Refunds will not be issued. Train for the swim test and be sure you can do it before you sign up. This class teaches you lifeguarding skills, it does not teach you to swim or get you in condition to swim. A professional lifeguard is responsible for the lives of the people they watch over, and they must be in condition to respond at all times.
